A hotel made entirely out of sea containers? Surely not. Yes, it is possible, welcome to the future of construction modular design.

Tribe Hotel on Walker Avenue in West Perth is Australia’s first integrated modular design hotel and features prefabricated guest rooms with sophisticated essentials for the modern traveler. It’s almost the Ikea of new hotels.

Traditional construction methods were circumvented and a modular build system was pioneered that slashes construction costs and environmental footprints. These cost savings are then passed on to guests, delivering an accessible luxury hotel alternative.

DENMAC’s scope was to create the visual façade of the building which was achieved by the install of 3.5m high aluminum pressed façade panels which were manufactured overseas and supplied by the client. The result was an eye catching and striking façade which masked the modular design aspect and gave the impression of a traditional construction.

DENMAC’s install team faced many challenges due to the tight timeframes and the limited site access for craneage and lifting equipment. Due to the access issues, we were required to mobilise on weekends to achieve the outcome for the client.
